If you are looking to add some variety to your lower body workouts and training, TRX is where it's at. The weights you are used to using might have to take a backseat to some of these new exercises but I promise it will be worth it so stay patient!
There is quite a learning curve on some of the single leg moves in the video and that you can do with the TRX so go slow with the movements and master your stability via bodyweight before increasing the loads. Kettlebells are a great tool for front loading (Fit pros should see my previous post) the body first while getting down moves like the split squat and then you can double up from there.
These types of moves are also great for anyone looking to prevent injury or improve performance in any way. Many of the single leg exercises are going to absolutely fire up the stabilization system within the ankle, knee, hip, and core. Great as accessory work for athletes integrated into a comprehensive lifting program or can serve as the bread and butter for anyone looking for overall health & performance.
